  • এই ক্ষমা চাওয়া কেস তা আদ্যন্ত ন্যাকামি । দেশ-কাল-পরিস্থিতির চক্করে কারো গ্রেটার গুড অন্যের গ্রেটার গুড এর সঙ্গে ওভারল্যাপ নাই করতে পারে । তার আবার ক্ষমা চাওয়া কী । নির্ঘাত জাপুগুলোর কোনো রিসেন্ট ধান্দা আছে । আমেরিকাও চাইবে যখন ধান্দায় আটকাবে ।

  • এদিকে ক্ষমা ! অন্যদিকে জাপানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী জাপানের নিজস্ব সেনাবাহিনী গঠনের জন্যে একটি প্রস্তাব এনেছেন, যেটা অলরেডি লোয়ার অ্যাসেম্বলিতে পাস হয়ে গেছে। উচ্চ কক্ষ সম্মতি দিলে আইন তৈরি হবে। জাপানের সাধারণ মানুষ অনেকেই এই বিলটা নিয়ে আপত্তি জানিয়েছেন, বিক্ষোভও হচ্ছে। জাপানের সামরিক ইতিহাস খুব একটা সুবিধের নয়।দুই প্রতিবেশী চিন এবং কোরিয়া জাপানের সেনাবাহিনী তৈরীতে আপত্তি জানিয়ে সতর্ক নজর রাখছে।
    আমেরিকাও মনে করে তাদের সামরিক ঘাঁটি এবং জাপানের শান্তিবাহিনীই যথেষ্ট। পুরোমাত্রায় সেনাবাহিনী তৈরির দরকার নেইঃ)

    কিন্তু আশ্চর্য লাগে, আমেরিকাকে হিরোশিমা নাগাসাকি নিয়ে ক্ষমা চাইতে চাপ দেওয়া হয়নি ? খবরে পড়লাম, এই কিছুদিন আগে ওবামা নাকি চাইবেন বলেছিলেন, তাঁকে নাকি জাপান থেকেই নিরস্ত করা হয়েছে। কেন হয়েছে, খুব ক্লিয়ার হলনা। কোন লিকড কেবল এর খবর।
    এদিকে যদ্দুর মনে পড়ছে, আনন্দ পটবর্ধনের ওয়ার এন্ড পিসে দেখিয়েছিল, আম্রিগা এই নিয়ে অনুতপ্ত না, পার্ল হারবার দিয়ে জাস্টিফাই চলে। সাধারণ আম্রিগাবাসী নিয়ে কী দেখিয়েছিল, খুব ভাল মনে নেই। আগেও বোধহয় একবার জানতে চেয়েছিলাম, আম্রিগার স্কুলের টেক্স্টবুকে হিরোশিমা নাগাসাকি বম্বিং কে কীভাবে পড়ানো হয় ?
    আম্রিগার এত্ত মিউজিয়ামে হলোকস্ট নিয়ে এত্ত ডকুমেন্টেশন দেখেছি, হি না নিয়ে হি নী।

Germany has also paid extensive reparations, including nearly $70 billion to the state of Israel. It has given $15 billion to Holocaust survivors and will continue to compensate them until 2015. Additionally, the government of Germany coordinated an effort to reach a settlement with German companies that had used slave labor during the war; the companies will pay $1.7 billion to victims. Germany also established a National Holocaust Memorial Museum in Berlin for looted property.

    আর তাছাড়া প্রায় পুরো জার্মান জাতই এনিয়ে প্রচুর অনুতপ্ত, একেবারে দিল সে অনুতপ্ত যাকে বলে। এরকম কিছু জার্মান বন্ধুবান্ধবের সাথে কথা বলা সুযোগ হয়েছিল। এরকমও শুনেছি, ওরা নাকি ঐ হলোকস্টের জন্য এখনো রীতিমত যন্ত্রণায় ভোগে, আর তার ম্যানিফেস্টেশন নাকি অনেকেরই নিজেদের মধ্যে গুটিয়ে যাওয়ায়। এটা আমার বন্ধুর বক্তব্য।
    জার্মানিতে হলোকস্ট নিয়ে অনেক মিউজিয়ম, মেমোরিয়ালও আছে। এরকম একটা দেখার পর থেকেই আম্রিগায় হি না নিয়ে কিছু আছে কিনা দেখার আগ্রহ জন্মেছিল। কিন্তু হতাশ হয়েছি।

    August 26, 1982: Chief Cabinet Secretary Kiichi Miyazawa said to the people of the Republic of Korea: "1. The Japanese Government and the Japanese people are deeply aware of the fact that acts by our country in the past caused tremendous suffering and damage to the peoples of Asian countries, including the Republic of Korea (ROK) and China, and have followed the path of a pacifist state with remorse and determination that such acts must never be repeated. Japan has recognized, in the Japan-ROK Joint Communique, of 1965, that the 'past relations are regrettable, and Japan feels deep remorse,' and in the Japan-China Joint Communique, that Japan is 'keenly conscious of the responsibility for the serious damage that Japan caused in the past to the Chinese people through war and deeply reproaches itself.' These statements confirm Japan's remorse and determination which I stated above and this recognition has not changed at all to this day. 2. This spirit in the Japan-ROK Joint Communique, and the Japan-China Joint Communique, naturally should also be respected in Japan's school education and textbook authorization.

    September 6, 1997: Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto said: "In 1995, on the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Government of Japan expressed its resolution through the statement by the Prime Minister, which states that during a certain period in the past, Japan's conduct caused tremendous damage and suffering to the people of many countries, including China, and the Prime Minister expressed his feeling of deep remorse and stated his heartfelt apology, while giving his word to make efforts for peace. I myself was one of the ministers who was involved in drafting this statement. I would like to repeat that this is the official position of the Government of Japan. During the summit meeting that I had during my visit to China, I have made this point very clear in a frank manner to the Chinese side. Premier Li Peng said that he concurs completely with my remarks" (Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Conference on: Visit of Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto to the People's Republic of China)

    November 26, 1998: Prime Minister Keizō Obuchi said in a declaration: "Both sides believe that squarely facing the past and correctly understanding history are the important foundation for further developing relations between Japan and China. The Japanese side observes the 1972 Joint Communique of the Government of Japan and the Government of the People's Republic of China and the August 15, 1995 Statement by former Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama. The Japanese side is keenly conscious of the responsibility for the serious distress and damage that Japan caused to the Chinese people through its aggression against China during a certain period in the past and expressed deep remorse for this. The Chinese side hopes that the Japanese side will learn lessons from the history and adhere to the path of peace and development. Based on this, both sides will develop long-standing relations of friendship" (Japan-China Joint Declaration On Building a Partnership of Friendship and Cooperation for Peace and Development)

    August 30, 2000: Minister for Foreign Affairs Yōhei Kōno said in an address during his visit to the People's Republic of China: "I believe that Japan's perception of history was clearly set out in the Statement by Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama issued, following a Cabinet Decision, on the fiftieth anniversary of the end of World War II. As a member of the Cabinet, I participated in the drafting of that Statement. The spirit contained therein has been carried forth by successive administrations and is now the common view of the large number of Japanese people" (Address by Minister for Foreign Affairs Yōhei Kōno During His Visit to the People's Republic of China).

    January 9, 2013: Yukio Hatoyama, prime minister of Japan from 2009-2010, issued a formal apology to the victims of Japanese war crimes in China during a visit to Nanjing. The former prime minister also urged the Japanese government to acknowledge the dispute between the two countries concerning sovereignty of the islands known as Diaoyu in China and Senkaku in Japan.

  • এই ক্ষমা চাওয়া নিয়ে খিল্লি হতেই পরে, কিন্তু ক্ষমা তো চাইছে/চাওয়ানো হচ্ছে। মিৎসুবিসির ক্ষমা চাওয়ার মঞ্চে একজন আমেরিকান উপস্থিত ছিলেন যিনি মিৎসুবিসির প্রোজেক্টে যুদ্ধবন্দী দাস হিসাবে কাজ করেছিলেন।
    এটা যদি হতে পারে, তো আমেরিকা নাপাম বোম থেকে ছুটে পালানো সেদিনের কিশোরীটিকে সামনে রেখে ক্ষমা চাইবে না কেন?
