  • No, I'm not defending Sanjay Dutt. If he is found guilty for possessing illegal arms, and if the punishment for that is 5 years RI, I'm fine with that, he must face the punishment.

    What makes me think differently is the selective judgements given by the Apex Court of the so-called Democracy of India. People like Sanjay Dutt do not have any Political Power, do not have power enough to suppress justice and law. All these guys have is merely a huge fanbase, a stardom.

    All print media, TV Channels are now building mass consensus for Sanjay Dutt, his fanbase is now asking for his forgiveness. innocent boy, made a mistake when he was immatured, should be pardoned by the Governor, pardoned by the Supreme Court of India. No wonder, the same set people, same bunch of media silently ask the same for Narendra Modi, a genocide accused. Not only forgiveness, a huge consensus is being built across India to make this mass-murderer the next Prime Minister of India. Incredible India.

    More surprisingly, his case has not ended up yet, and there is no near chance to call him a criminal by any Court of India. People will forget eventually and they will be made to forget eventually that this very person is much more a criminal than people like Sanjay Dutt etc. He has administered murder of thousand of innocent persons in his own state.

    Time to rethink before silently agreeing Supreme Court to be the final place of delivering justice. Time to ask now, what happened to holding NaMo guilty of the Gujarat Genocide, what happened to delivering his punishment?

    Incredible India, is promoting him as a Prime Minister an exact punishment for the crime he has done?

    Kuntal Debnath -- I disagree. Here are the points:

    1. The incident that has been referred to as "genocide" can be described from a different outlook. If you hit someone, you
    should expect a hit back. If someone bits our children or family members, how many of us have the guts to behave like the wife of Graham Staine? We do retaliate, I don't say it is always correct, but that's how we react, right?

    That's common human nature.

    2. I agree to the fact that the communal violence, riots sometimes happen because of the politician's decisions. If Modi has to be blamed in this incident, then I would advise you to make a list of such politicians starting from 1940's Calcutta riot or even prior to that. The list won't be small I assure you. It might include one father also, sorry, I would not name any individual as I cannot prove that in the court. Some of us just tend to forget that many politicians have been involved in many such cases. Whose decision sparkled the Calcutta riot? Why did the 84 Delhi riot break out? Indira Gandhi was murdered by a person who happened to be a Sikh, was that enough reason to murder thousands of innocent Sikhs? Same logic, right? Retaliation? Just like we have seen in Gujrat? What was the government's role in recent Assam riot? Why did not the state and central governments, run by the same party, control the situation when people were dying like anything? Questions are many, answers are less. Point is, if someone you think, here Modi, has done something wrong, you have every right to comment and react on that, but then why the other guys who have committed the same mistakes on the same ground got your favor to be untouched and unknown?

    3. Judiciary system in India is flawed by many things simply because it is not run by saints and/or God. But then, do you propose an alternative? When you state a problem, you should talk about the probable solutions as well, anyone can cite problems in any matter, not a big deal, but does he/she have the vision to rectify it? If not, then you are compelled to respect the current system. If apex court has no problem with Modi, then that's it. Relax, the same institution has marked more culpable heroes as innocents who you might have ignored because they were not Modi's !! You always have 2 options: Don't believe in the system, either talk about alternatives or get out of the country. Believe in the system and file a case against Modi, please show your guts, I will be happy as your room mate, posting comments that you cannot prove in court won't really help.

    4. Last one. According to the latest central government reports Muslims in Gujrat are well ahead of in many areas compared to national average. Forget about religions, everyone wants developments. Except Modi, Nitish Kumar and partially Naveen Pattnaik, no other CM is doing that. Any one of them is good for PM's candidature. Live in today and think for a better future. If you keep on remembering what happened 10 years back, then someone like me will always be there to drag things from 70 years back . Don't let that happen. Let's all hope for a better India than what it is now. Jai Hind.
